Less Than Container Load (LCL) is a shipping method where goods from multiple shippers are consolidated into one container, allowing each shipper to share the container space and cost based on the volume or weight of their cargo. This option is ideal for small shipments that do not require a full container, offering cost-effective transportation while maintaining flexibility. LCL shipments are consolidated at a Container Freight Station (CFS) and deconsolidated upon arrival at the destination. While LCL reduces shipping expenses for smaller loads, it may involve longer transit times and additional handling due to cargo consolidation and sorting. This method is particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized enterprises, ensuring affordable international shipping without the need for full container usage.
