Consignor Consignee
The consignor is the party that ships goods, usually the seller or exporter, while the consignee is the recipient of the goods, typically the buyer or importer.
The consignor is responsible for preparing shipping documents, arranging transportation, and ensuring the goods reach the carrier. Once the shipment arrives, the consignee is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and accepting the goods.
Clear communication between the consignor and consignee ensures smooth transactions and prevents misunderstandings in the shipping process.
