Beneficial Cargo Owner

A Beneficial Cargo Owner (BCO) is the individual or company that ultimately owns the cargo being transported and holds financial responsibility and decision-making authority over the goods.

Unlike intermediaries such as freight forwarders or third-party logistics providers, the BCO is the end recipient and user of the shipped goods. In international trade, BCOs often negotiate directly with carriers or shipping lines to obtain competitive rates and favorable service terms.
